Birth control medications normally have very minimal side effects, and can be one of the best methods for acne prevention in women.

The most commonly prescribed birth control pill for acne treatment is Estrostep. Be sure to follow the regimen strictly, and not smoke cigarettes while on the pill as this can lead to health complications. Some women naturally have hormone imbalances, which can be dangerous in more than just acne to the body. Be sure to consult a medical professional if you believe this is a condition you suffer from.
